The ASTM A106 Gr.B embedded finned tube with Cu-T2 fins is a composite heat transfer tube designed for industrial high-temperature heat exchange applications. It adopts ASTM A106 Gr.B seamless carbon steel tube as the pressure-bearing base tube and high-purity Cu-T2 copper fins. The mechanical embedded forming process ensures stable pressure resistance of carbon steel and high thermal conductivity of copper, suitable for continuous operating conditions in power plants, chemical industries, air coolers and heat exchangers.

 

Core Components:
1. Base Tube: ASTM A106 Gr.B Carbon Steel

Comply with ASTM A106 industrial high-temperature pipeline standards, applicable to high-temperature and medium-pressure fluid transportation conditions. The material features stable tensile strength, yield strength and low-temperature toughness without metallurgical defects, adapting to long-term continuous start-stop operation. All base tubes are equipped with original material certificates and heat traceability numbers.

2. Fin: Cu-T2 Pure Copper

Made of national standard Cu-T2 high-purity copper with dense surface and no oxide inclusions, featuring excellent thermal conductivity and tensile ductility.

It adapts to high-speed mechanical embedding forming without cracking or peeling, ensuring uniform and stable heat exchange contact surface and improving overall heat transfer efficiency.

3. Forming Process Advantages
Embedded Finned Tube:

Adopts cold mechanical embedding process without welding, brazing or high-temperature thermal deformation. CNC precision grooving is performed on the outer wall of the base tube, and Cu-T2 copper fins are extruded and locked into the grooves for gap-free fitting. The original pressure-bearing structure of the base tube is completely retained, avoiding common problems such as thermal stress cracking, heat transfer attenuation and fin falling off.

 

4. Detailed Application

  • Petrochemical Industry – Heater Convection Sections
    • Used in the convection sections of fired heaters and furnaces to recover heat from flue gas before it exits the stack.
  • Gas Turbine HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator)
    • Installed in the low-temperature sections of HRSG downstream of radiant superheater zones, recovering heat from gas turbine exhaust.
  • Industrial Flue Gas Heat Recovery (Incinerators, Smelters, Cement Kiln Tail)
    • Recover waste heat from high-temperature flue gas streams in incinerators, non-ferrous metal smelters, and cement production lines.
  • Air Preheater (APH)
    • Preheat combustion air using waste flue gas heat in boiler systems, industrial furnaces, and thermal oxidizers.

The finning is tight — you can tell they used a proper cold-forming process because the fins don't move at all when you try to wiggle them. We've had issues before with other suppliers where the fins would come loose after a few thermal cycles, but these ones feel solid.
